Anacondia Ministry

1. The structure of the ministry

Carlos Anacondia is a Latin American preacher as well known in Japan as Claudio Freizon. He came to Japan about 6 times since 1992. He came to our prefecture 3 times so far. I would like to share about his ministry since I had an opportunity to work as an interpreter for his ministry of deliverance 3 times.

The deliverance here means liberation from the oppression of demons.

Therefore, since the last year conference, it seems that more deliverance or inner healing have been done not only inside the church but also in cell group meetings or in the fellowship with other Christians. Since several months before the crusade with Anacondia, seminar or teaching is done for the local churches in that area and the preparation is done for the ministy. The reason for that is that his ministry has such a distinct characteristic that even the Christians with the knowledge of the deliverance ministry need to receive the teaching and preparation with humbleness. For example, they train people for the ministry to take all the people who have fallen or have manifestation in the prayer of rebuking the devil to receive the counseling.

His ministry seems to consist of two extremes. One is the special spiritual authority that Anacondia has against demons. The other extreme is that with the manual of the deliverance steps, one can get involved in the work of deliverance even if you don't have special experience or anointing.

There is a characteristic of his anointing that is unusual. When he rebukes the demons in prayer in front of the congregation, many people under spiritusl oppression fall or have manifestation. It seems that before his ministry was known, there was some kind of confusion between manifestation by the Holy Spirit and by the demons. But as the church matures spiritually and has descernment, now it is recognised as a special type of anointing and there seems to be no confusion.

In the crusade in Sapporo, the deliverance team was made up of about 30 staff. When the manifestation by demons happen, those people are taken to the other room and receive counseling from a team of 2. But in fact, more people than expected were taken to the room so every one in the staff ended up giving counseling alone. According to Pablo Botari, who was in charge of the deliverance at that time, 3 to 5 percent of the people show manifestation by demons in any nation.

Most of the people who come to the crusade are Christians. Therefore, most of the people taken to the other room for counseling are Christians. Not few of those people are those who love the Lord and serve the Lord. Even Christians, getting to know the fact that they can get oppressed by demons, I realized that we really have to walk with fear and tremble before the Lord.

Some of the people in the counseling team received deliverance from demonic oppression in the previous year and they said that they were happy to be used to destry the work of devil that year even though the devil had tried to destroy them the previous year.

Another team supporting his ministry is the team of people called ashers or carriers who serve inside the hall. They discern spiritually what is going on in the people with manifestation and take those to the deliverance room. However, because there was a rule to have to take all those who show manifestation in the prayer of rebuking the devil by Anacondia, discerning didn't seem that difficult. . No matter how well the counselors are organized, it might be difficult to minister to people without ashers and carriers.
