Sapporo Guerrila Live

Street Live Report 2

Finally spring has come to Sapporo. On April 7, we went out to Odori Park for the street live evangelism. The previous street live in Susukino was a lot of fun and wonderful, but this time, we had a new style of evangelism. We have been doing weekly personal evangelism on Thursday evenings. At this time, the importance is to break down the walls between us and the people who we evangelize. The solution we came up with was booth-style-live evangelism, but we have come up with even newer methods.

That is, in stead of playing musical instruments in order to attract people, to join those who are already plaing!

Catch Phrase

'Is your instrument enough?'
It is the time to offer more sound to those who are lacking sound.

It may require a certin level of improvising ability in order to join those who are playing some kind of music for the first time, but it worked as we gave it a try.

There were already several people listening to the music as the high school students' group was playing. So we joined them and played with them for a while. After playing 'Amazing Grace'., we talked to the people who were listening a little. I like sharing to the people personally so usually I don't get to talk to a crowd. But at that time, everyone was paying attention as I shared. Afterwards, I talked to the indiivduals and found some of them very open spiritaully. Actually one of them received Jesus into his heart!

Those who were listening

I have been evangelizing for years in Odori Park. I usually talked to the individuals and I did it sometimes with the church with praise & worship. But I felt this time was completely differnt from what I had been doing. The difference was that the people who evangelized and the people who were evangelized( those who were doing the street live) and also the audience were made one, which made it so natural for me to share.

This was such a special time. Some of the tourists were taking our photos and we found the Hokkaido Shinbun reporter taking our photos. Then on the next day, we found ourselves in the newspaper.

There was no comment on the Gospel on the newspaper, but it showed that it was such a special day.
