Judge Pal was one of the judges who was delegated by the allied nations for the sake of Tokyo trials. While 10 other judges insisted that Japan should be guilty just like a fixed match, he was the only one that insisted the innocence of Japan.
His arguments were as follows:
(notice) What is the issue here is about the crimes of the Japanese politicians and military leaders, that is, what Japan had done as a nation.
It does not mean that Japan had no fault at all in any place.
However, his decision was never utilized for the judicial decision. Judge Pal said these things, lamenting the result of this Tokyo trials.
I can not stand idly by and watch future generation of japanese children be burdened with a warped sense of guilt which infect them with servility and decay.
